A valley surrounded
by lush green mountains constitutes the Central Region
of Costa Rica, which also enjoys a relaxing spring like
climate all year round. The Central Valley offers the
visitor a great variety of protected areas that embrace
a great diversity of eco-systems, microhabitats, cloud
forests, highland forests, highland savannas, and moorlands.
This region has the highest concentration of inhabitants
and it is where the most part of the economic wealth
of the country is generated. It is also the seat of
the Costa Rican government. The provinces of Heredia,
Alajuela, Cartago and San José, this latter the
nation's capital, jointly make up the Central Valley.
The Central Valley is home to a wide variety of hotels
from which to choose from. It also offers the tourist
excellent museums, restaurants, parks, volcanoes, conference
centers and a great variety in nightlife entertainment
to guarantee a pleasurable stay.
