In the Central
Pacific Zone, from among other exciting things you will
be able to enjoy the sun, the sand, the tropical beaches,
the entertainment, the parties, and the great food. The
province of Puntarenas is located in this region and the
natural beauty of this zone offers the visitor interesting
tropical ecosystems which rank among the most frequented
in the country. The Central Pacific Zone includes more
than a dozen shelter and protection areas covered with
lush and refreshing forests that captivate the fancy of
the thousands of tourists that visit it every year.
Here, the visitor may enjoy the beauty of the primary
and secondary forests, the bogs, the mangrove swamps,
the lagoons, and the beach vegetation. You may also have
the opportunity to catch glimpse of many of the species
of the region, such as the squirrel monkeys, the howler
monkeys, the white-faced capuchin monkeys, the white-nosed
coatis and the sloth. Furthermore, it is also possible
to spot birds such as the Scarlet Macaw, the Anhinga and
the Great Egret.
