Location:
Palo Verde National Park is 12,4 m south of Bagaces.
Access:
There is an excellent public transportation system to
the area, as all Liberia buses pass through Bagaces.
From Bagaces to the park there are no buses, but one
can arrive in car or taxi.
Difficulties for access: In the rainy season
there generally is a lot of mud, you must check that
you have 4WD.

Guanacaste, and 3 hours to San José.

ATTRACTIONS
OF PALO VERDE NATIONAL PARK
- Tropical Dry Forest.
- Half of the area of the park is made
up of wetlands.
- There are diverse seasonally inundated
flatlands, in between the rivers and a line of limestone
hills.
- There are 12 to 15 different habitats.
- Birdwatching, in one of the best areas
in Central America.
- Because of it’s topography it
has certain characteristics of unusual drainage, flooding
patterns, and tidal effects.
Recommended
time of year to visit:
The best time of year is the dry season,
from December to April; nonetheless it is a good idea
to use a four-wheel-drive vehicle, more so in the rainy
season.
