Location:
The Pitilla Biological Station is located in Guanacaste National Park in the northwest part of the province of that name. It is 36 m northwest of the city of Liberia and 7 m south of Santa Cecilia de La Cruz, on the slopes of the mini-volcano Orosilito.

Access:
By private car or bus to Santa Cecilia de La Cruz. The road is asphalt as far as Santa Cecilia, dirtpassable is with 4WD only to Pitilla.

Bus schedule:
San José-Santa Cecilia: 7:35 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
Liberia-La Cruz: 5:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
La Cruz-Santa Cecilia: 12:00 noon, 12:30 p.m., 1:15 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
