Location:
The Maritza Biological Station is located at an elevation
of 2,132 feets on the west slope of the Orosí
Volcano, within Guanacaste National Park in the northwest
part of Guanacaste province.
Access:By
car or taxi, 4WD required. Taxis are available 24 hours
in Liberia and La Cruz.
Taxis: 24 hours from Liberia or La Cruz
Buses: San José- or Liberia-La Cruz to the entrance
road (Panamerican-Cuajiniquil),
then 11 m to the station.
San José-La Cruz:
5:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m.
Liberia-La Cruz:
5:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 noon,
2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m.
Return buses pass the Cuajiniquil entrance road for
Liberia at:
7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. Liberia-San
José:
8:35 a.m., 12:40 a.m., 3:15 p.m.
