Location:
The Cacao Biological Station is located in Guanacaste National Park in the northwest part of the province of that name. It is on the slopes of the Cacao Volcano.

Access:
4WD only

Travel times:
Liberia 90 minutes.
Quebrada Grande 40 minutes.

Access problems:
Roads are asphalt as far as Quebrada Grande, from there a gravel road reaches the Río Góngora bridge. In the rainy season one can continue on foot or horseback the 5 km to the station. In the dry season, with 4WD it is possible to reach the area known as Los Naranjales, 0,5 miles from the station.
